Staples Team Manager - Inside Sales in Lincolnshire, Illinois

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive inside sales account managers to exceed monthly sales and margin quotas. Manage performance of inside sales associates through expected KPI’s, coaching, and call monitoring in order to ensure team sales and margin goals are met.

  • Strategize with account manager to effectively manage customer base, problem solve and implement solutions

  • Develop prospecting strategies and enhance selling strategies to increase sales and profitability.

  • Develop, recommend and improve current sales strategies

  • Attend and participate in any vendor, product training and cross functional team meetings as directed by management.

  • Collaborate with Admin and Bid team on processes that support inside sales associates

  • Partner with sales coach and trainer to develop inside sales associates.

  • Ability to understand and react to the specific needs and motivations of individual sales contributors.

  • Monitor ongoing performance of direct reports through one on ones, coaching sessions up to and including performance management.

  • Assist in building and driving a best in class sales organizational.

  • Partner with all areas of the Quill business to build selling strategies to achieve sales and margin goal.

Qualifications

Basic:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum of 2 years successful experience in business to business sales environment

  • Knowledge of computer programs related to sales order process and customer service functions

  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively manage change

  • Demonstrate strong decision making and problem solving ability under pressure

  • Must possess good time management and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Previous sales and/or people management experience (1-3 years)

  • Knowledge and experience of coaching techniques to drive performance improvements
