The ART 4 - Agile Scrum Master is the servant leader on an Agile team, but is also looking at Agility in the enterprise, and has a solid understanding of how Agile works at scale. They are the catalyst to a team’s ability to self-organize and continuously improve, using techniques appropriate to the team(s) they are working with, which include transparency, inspection and adaption. The Scrum Master protects the team from distractions and removes impediments to the team’s success. This position is part of ART 4 which includes OMS, Supply Chain, ESB and Enterprise Gateway. The Scrum Master will work primarily in OMS but have exposure across ART 4. Major Accountabilities: Enable Scrum or Kanban as a software development framework for IT delivery teams Facilitate all scrum events and ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, retrospective and daily stand-ups Manage and direct the team Jira board Provide clear, concise and effective reporting and communication across ART 4

Responsibilities:

Team

  • Partner with the Product Owner to ensure the Backlog is well groomed and ready for the team

  • Coach the team to improve and to work as a self-organizing team

  • Protect the team from distractions and unplanned work

  • Remove impediments to the team’s success

  • Manage dependencies and coordinate between scrum teams where necessary

  • Communicate team progress by ensuring team goals are met and metrics are updated daily

  • Works cross functionally to align strategy, methodology and execution

  • Coach, train and mentor the team to increase effectiveness and efficiency through continuous improvement

Train

  • Assist in the adoption and maturing of agile practices across ART 4

  • Create metrics to provide teams and the organization with relevant feedback

  • Coach and mentors junior Scrum Masters and supports new Agile Teams

  • Establish strong relationships with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Agile Coaches and Business Partners

Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of information technology experience 5+ years demonstrated experience in project delivery, with 2 years applying Agile approaches

  • Proven track record of delivering IT projects in a fast paced, large, complex, matrix environment

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile Project Management tools, specifically Jira

  • Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Scrum Master, Scrum Professional, Kanban, or SAFe certifications

  • Experience with order management systems or supply chain applications

  • Ability to utilize agile methods in a flexible manner, that can adapt to the specific needs of the organization, including hard deadlines and dates

  • Able to experiment with processes and tools that encourage continuous improvement

  • Experience identifying, implementing and operating using metrics that help measure progress and guide change
