Staples Pricing Analyst in Framingham, Massachusetts


This position supports pricing strategy and execution for Staples retail stores and The primary goal of the team is to maximize financial performance by delivering timely reporting and impactful insights to business owners, empowering those business owners to make pricing decisions, and ultimately executing agreed upon price changes within applications.

Pricing analysts provide analytical support to merchant and senior team members. Analysts collect and aggregate internal and external data and make impactful recommendations based on findings. This is done by working closely with merchant teams to understand their categories and needs, monitoring the market for competitive movement, and analyzing history of sales and prices. Regular and promotional prices are in scope.

Typical assignments include recommending price reaction to changes in product costs, learning product assortment and building price ladder relationships, modeling various strategies while maintaining accurate price ladders, executing regular price changes, and providing ad hoc support to senior analysts’ projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend price changes in reaction to changes in product cost.

  • Execute price changes within systems for regular, everyday price changes.

  • Build and maintain price relationship ladders between products. (ex. 5 pack vs 10 pack)

  • Provide support to senior analysts’ projects


Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 1-2 years related work experience

Preferred skills:

  • Extreme attention to detail, capable of flawless execution

  • Team player, positive attitude, sense of urgency and ability to work collaboratively

  • Highly organized with the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance workload effectively

  • Solid computer skills (efficient in Excel. Experience with Access and Tableau are preferred)

  • Superior communication skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
