Staples Inside Area Sales Manager – Print & Marketing Services in Framingham, Massachusetts


As an inside sales leader, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for establishing, building, and growing an inside sales team focused on selling print and promotional products. The sales team will be responsible for executing against core KPIs and identifying opportunities to convert sales to meet quotas. Aligned against Staples online channels including Commercial & Enterprise, Mid-Market &, this role is responsible for accelerating growth within the print space through people development, growing share of wallet and delivering a world class customer experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Attain financial targets by holding team accountable to meeting or exceeding sales targets

• Effectively manage a team - recruit, mentor, coach, and develop sales team members to maximize their potential

• Individualized and team coaching and development, motivate and inspire

• Leverage sales and activity reports and recorded customer calls during coaching sessions

• Maintain and expand customer base and actively manage sales pipelines, participate in large sales calls

• Allocate areas and/or accounts to sales members on the team

• Review proposals, presentations, and pricing; coach team members to ensure the successful closing of opportunities

• Ensure the execution of tactical and operational segments of the sales plan

• Effectively implement and monitor key program components, including performance to sales targets, commission plans, performance appraisals, and professional development

• Ability to work in team collaborative environment and effectively build relationships with customers and across functional groups in Staples
