Staples Analyst Business Systems in Framingham, Massachusetts
This role represents finance interests on finance sponsored initiatives to support system, process, and/or data integrity within back office functions. This individual will partner closely with Business System Consultants and Project Managers and test new features and technology. They are developing subject matter expertise in business systems and accounting processes. They will contribute to work plans and identify risks and help troubleshoot issues with the core team.
Develop financial business process and related systems subject matter expertise, within a Finance tower (O2C, P2P, or R2R):
Partner with Product owners, and Business Process Owners to help define scope of small projects.
Interview Process Owners and Subject Matter experts regarding their business process and technology tools
Create visual representations of current state, and be able to communicate the process or system in layman’s terms
Document systems or process opportunities for enhancements along with their business benefits
Write business or systems stories that would describe to Accounting or Finance enhancements to SDS.
Write test cases and test Finance systems or process changes to ensure high quality deliverables for Accounting and Finance
Contribute to priority issue resolution by analyzing data from systems and processes
Innovation and Change (i.e. improvements to procedures, services, or products, as well as development of new ideas, methods, techniques, services and products)
- Provide support for Product Owner for existing or new capability to develop ideation skills for new features
Communication/Interactions: Internal & External Customers / Suppliers as well as Third Parties (i.e. include level or job title of customer relationship and the nature of the customer relationship management and service delivery as well as the type of interaction; adapt/exchange of information, influence, or negotiate)
- Develop trusted relationships with Finance and Accounting peers to enable cross team collaboration.

Bachelor’s Degree required with 4 to 6 years’ experience
Financial systems or process experience
Knowledge of project management & software development lifecycle methodologies
Understanding of at least one aspect of the financial systems and process flow such as International and Domestic technical accounting, treasury, tax, operational accounting, AP, AR, payroll, cash application, credit collections, tax exempt, or risk management
Team player with ability to build relationships
Strong written and verbal communications skills with a focus on system and process requirements
